When I was younger, my grandmother would have women gather together at her home a few times each week while they worked on a quilt together. I remember being around during some of these “meetings” and what fun they seemed to have! There was laughter and stories that lasted for several hours. It is with this in mind that we are excited and proud to offer our decorative finishes workshops, using the Caromal Colours Country Living Artisans Collection of decorative finishes.
Our studio is located just outside Clovis, CA – very convenient and accessible to those in Clovis, Fresno, and the rest of the valley since we are just off Hwy 168. You will find the studio a warm, inspiring place to create, next to a small vineyard, with the sounds of birds, fountains, the smell of fresh cut grass and you might even catch a glimpse of the hawks that live in the trees. Some have called this place “an oasis in the city”. You might not want to leave!
The gathering of creative spirits is fun and exhilarating. Although some workshops are disguised as a project, all are teaching you a life skill. Once you have learned the tricks of gilding or glazing, stenciling or distressing, your home takes on a new horizon. Now, everything becomes a blank canvas to create a look, a custom finish, a cozy lifestyle.
So, treat yourself. Bring your friends, families, neighbors and spouses. Learn to create your lifestyle with paint and the painted finish. Create your own treasures!
Listed are the workshops currently being offered. We like to remain flexible and be able to tailor a workshop just for you and your group. Workshops are about 2-4 hours long, but you might have so much fun, you won’t want to leave!

Nothing will be the same in your home again! As some students have remarked, “These jars should come with warnings – Warning, refinishing addiction may occur!”.
STUDIO SCHEDULE: Studio is now open Tuesday – Thursday from noon – 5pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10-3. Sometimes we do need to step out, and you may find us “MIA”, so do call first. We wouldn’t want to miss your visit!

Distressed for Success….
$95
Using our unique line of low VOC, waterbased paints and materials, learn how easy it is to transform your furniture, cabinets or architectural elements from old and worn to something new and beautiful. Bring something from home to work on such as a cabinet door, drawer front, small stool, etc. We take you through the steps needed to make it uniquely yours. When you leave you have the knowledge and personal experience to complete your project at home.
This workshop usually lasts about 4 hours, depending on techniques used, and to allow for drying time.
Everything that Glitters Is……$40
Learn all about gilding with gold, copper, and silver metal leaf. This workshop’s project changes with the seasons so we may be working on flower pots, picture frames, gourds, pumpkins, or ornaments, depending on the season. It’s so fun and easy, you will wonder why you never did this before!!
Note: This is a wonderful party class for groups. Ask about special pricing for groups of 10-12
Walls that WOW!… $125
Learn how to take your walls from drab to fab using our Perfect Plaster and wall glazes. In this workshop you will apply plaster to sample boards with different applicators, and glaze both plaster boards as well as painted boards with our tea, coffee and cream wall glaze, again, using different application techniques to get unique and wonderful results. And because our plaster isn’t just used on walls, we will be plastering a little something extra as a bonus!
Old World Leather Look Walls…
$40
Using a combination of a few materials, partially found at your home improvement store, craft store and a “secret” ingredient that we offer from our Country Living Artisans Collection, turn your flat walls into walls that resemble old leather, very easily and inexpensively.
In Your Own Words Stencils…$40
Create a plaque with a quote that you choose or let us choose one for you. This is a great class to make into a party with each of you making a plaque that says “I’d rather be….(you fill in the blanks)” This is using our one use stencils that you order in advance.....any saying can be made into a stencil for your home. You don’t have to pay someone $$$ to hand letter on your walls anymore!
Other Information you should know:
All of our workshops are held at the Clovis studio, and include drinks and either snacks or a light lunch. We wouldn’t want you to go hungry having so much fun!
Also included are supplies and materials used in the workshop. All workshop prices are for ONE person. We sometimes have room for you to bring your husband or wife, but please ask first. There will be an additional $10 charge for them if you are working on the same cabinet door or same sample board. If they are working on another door or another project, a separate workshop charge will occur.
A 50% deposit is required to hold your seat for a workshop.
Additional materials are available for purchase so you can go home and start on your project immediately!
Workshops can also be tailored just for your group. Just ask!
In addition to our workshops, use our studio for baby showers, or making wedding favors, etc.
